Mopani Mines Plc. owned two golf courses on the Copper Belt in Zambia and initially contracted Mark Wiltshire Golf to produce a masterplan for the golf course to be upgraded which included a new irrigation system. MWG also placed an on-site General Manager and Greenkeeper to manage the entire golf club operation and golf course. The scope of work included a major upgrade and re-design of the golf course with the construction of new bunkers and tees as well as prep and maintenance of the golf course for the Zambian Open on the Sunshine Tour from 2014 – 2020. The Zambian Open returned to Nkana in 2024 and MWG have been re-appointed to prepare the golf course and facilities for this event in 2024 and 2025.
