Humewood Golf Club

MWG managed this iconic golf club, including the course maintenance, from November 2012 to January 2018. The club was in need of a financial turnaround. MWG developed and implemented a carefully thought out business plan that required change whilst retaining the history and traditions of Humewood. After a period of annual losses, the club has recorded positive cash flow and net profits since 2015.
Serengeti Golf & Wildlife Estate

MWG was appointed to assist the developer in successfully opening the golf operations at the Serengeti Golf and Wildlife Estate, a 27-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course. The facility is amongst the finest in Johannesburg with 10 minutes of the OR Thambo International Airport. With cool season grasses planted the golf course remains green throughout the year and is beautifully maintained. The golf club was opened in June 2009 and has since hosted the 2011 South African Open.
Laucala Island Resort

Laucala Island Resort is an idyllic island experience; the Billionaire and co-founder of the energy drink Red Bull, Mr. Dieter Mateschitz, bought the Island. The resort offers a very exclusive hideaway for the “rich and famous”. The resort is unique in many ways and is situated in the Pacific Ocean with magnificent views of the ocean on most of the golf course. MWG was appointed to prepare the golf course operations for the official opening setting up all systems and standard operating procedures followed by the sourcing suitable staff to run the golf club.
Arabella Golf Club

The Arabella Golf Club was ranked as the 4th best golf course in South Africa by Golf Digest and has hosted many international tournaments such as the Nelson Mandela Invitational. MWG was appointed to investigate the existing irrigation system on the golf course and provide a detailed recommendation based on an on site audit. The proposal, which was accepted, recommended an upgrade to the irrigation system. MWG was contracted in May 2013 to project manage the installation and it was successfully completed within the specified 7 months schedule and within budget, notwithstanding losing 40 days due to inclement weather.
Copper Leaf Golf & Country Estate

MWG was the preferred Management Company for this prestigious Golf Estate; this was also Ernie Els’s first Signature Golf Course in Johannesburg. The scope of work for this development was enormous which involved MWG providing a turnkey management solution for all golf operations on the Estate. An experienced golf operations team was appointed by MWG to ensure service levels were achieved. Ernie Els opened the golf course in November 2007.
Irene Country Club
City of Tswane, South Africa
MWG was appointed as the management company to oversee the entire management operation for a period of 3 years. Irene Country Club celebrated its Centenary in 2011, one of South Africa’s oldest and finest golf clubs, which takes pride in continuing old-fashioned family traditions. The club has an established membership base, which includes Golf, Tennis, Squash, Cricket, and Lawn Bowls. Irene CC is a true country club set in a beautiful area along the Henops River. The Golf Course won an award as the City of Tshwane’s Best Golf Course in 2012, this being achieved along with significant savings in the course budget for the same year.
Lakowe Lakes Golf & Country Estate

The Lakowe Lakes Golf Course, situated 30km from the city of Lagos, opened towards the end of 2012. This is the first residential golf estate in Nigeria. MWG was appointed to provide a complete management service with the set up of the golf operation prior to opening. This include compiling budgets, purchasing course equipment and golf carts, assist with clubhouse and maintenance shed designs and staffing structure.
Nchanga Golf Club
Chingola, Zambia
The operational management of the golf club along with the upgrade and design of the golf course was provided by Mark Wiltshire Golf. The golf operations management included the golf course maintenance, the golf shop, and the F&B that was outsourced. The negotiation and purchasing of golf course equipment and machinery as well as stock for the pro shop formed part of our management services. This magnificent golf course, which hosted the Zambian Open in late 2011 (Sunshine Tour), was voted 14th best in the world outside of the USA in 1979 by Golf Digest USA.
Kingswood Golf Estate

In 2009 MWG was appointed to assist in the set up of a membership program and review the current golf operation to improve revenue and market the golf club. The Golf Club is situated in the “Heart of the Golfing Mecca” in South Africa in the beautiful town of George in the Western Cape.
Fynbos Golf & Country Estate
Eastern Cape, South Africa
Fynbos was the first golf course design joint venture between golf professionals Mark Wiltshire and John Bland. Phase 1 of the project, commenced in mid-2008, which included the upgrade of the existing 9-hole layout as well as the re-construction and flow plan of the new world class clubhouse facilities with magnificent views of the Indian Ocean. The course was successfully opened in December 2009.
Crown Mines Golf Club
Gauteng, South Africa
Situated next to Soccer City, Crown Mines is one of Johannesburg’s oldest and most revered golf courses. This golf club was regarded as one of the finest tests of golf in Gauteng hosting many major amateur and professional events during the 1980 and 1990’s. Water features characterize the course, which makes it a challenging and aesthetically pleasing proposition.
Mont Choisy Golf Course
Grand Baie, Mauritius
MWG was commissioned to support the owners leading up to the opening of this 5-star golf club based in the Northern part of the Island. Construction of the golf course started in August 2015, and during this period MWG was responsible for membership sales prior to opening and developing a sustainable business plan for the golf operations. The course is opened in November 2017.
Lake Victoria Golf Course
Uganda, Africa
In January 2015, Mark Wiltshire Golf was approached by the developers, Pearl Development Group, to open the Lake Victoria Golf Course. With MWG’s first site visit in January, the final 2 holes of the 9 hole golf course was seeded and the club house approaching the end of the construction phase. MWG estimated that it would take 6 – 8 months for the golf course to be ready for play.
Mumi Golf Course
Kolwezi, Democratic Republic of Congo
MWG was appointed to build a new 9-hole golf course for Mutanda Mine plc at its Mumi site. The golf course is situated on the mine premises and was officially opened on 05 March 2016.
Royal Johannesburg & Kensington Golf Club

MWG was asked to assist the committee and work alongside the club in an advisory capacity on certain projects, such as the play-ability of the golf course for the 2014 Joburg Open.
